Day 1: Easter Island Airport - HD Ahu Akivi
Arrival at Easter Island. Airport reception and transfer to your selected hotel.
In the afternoon we will conduct our tour. We will begin in the town visiting Ahu Tahai, which features 3 restored platforms and the only moai with eyes made of white coral. The excursion will continue with a visit to Ahu Akivi, its 7 moais facing the sea that were restored in 1960. We will continue toward Puna Pau to learn more about the "Pukao" or moai hair. We will walk to the tip of a small volcano to see a crater with red scoria where the "hats" were carved. You will also be able to see a beautiful view toward Terevaka and the town. Return to hotel.
Accommodation.
Day 2: Easter Island - Full Day Anakena Beach
Breakfast at the hotel. We will depart traveling along the southern coast of the island, making our first stop at Vaihu to visit an Interpretive Rapa Nui Village where houses, ovens and chicken coops are displayed, which were typical constructions of each family in ancient times. We will then continue toward Ahu Akahanga where you will see a platform with 12 moais and a typical unrestored rapanui village with house remains, ancient ovens and a small cave. We will continue eastward to visit Ahu Tongariki, one of the most famous platforms on the island as it features 15 restored moais. Continuing along the route we will stop at Rano Raraku volcano where we will walk approximately 1 hour to see more than 400 moais that remain in different stages of carving. Here you will learn the history of the carving and transportation of the statues and will also feel the energy that this place still maintains. To end a day full of visits, we will finish at the paradisiacal "Anakena" beach with white sands of coral origin and turquoise waters. The beach also features Ahu NauNau and Ahu Ature Huki, which were sites of great discoveries. On the way back to town you will see volcanoes and vegetation that are part of the island's landscape. Return to your selected hotel.
Accommodation.
Day 3: Easter Island - HD Orongo
Breakfast at the hotel. In the morning we will depart on our visit to Ahu Vinapu to see the wall of Ahu Tahira, very similar to Incan walls. You will see a moai made of red scoria that could represent a woman with two heads. Continuing with the tour we will drive up to Rano Kau Volcano, which has the largest and most beautiful crater on the island. The view is impressive and the sea surrounding you will make you feel at the navel of the world. To learn about the final stage of the island's history before the arrival of Catholic missionaries, we will head to the Ceremonial village of Orongo. Here you will learn in detail about the Bird Man or Tangata Manu competition that lasted more than 2 centuries and ended around 1864. This activity consisted of going to the Motu Nui islet in search of the Manutara bird's egg to be proclaimed king or leader of the island. On the way back to town you can enjoy a beautiful sunset, full of colors, sitting in front of Ahu Tahai or in any place near the sea. Return to hotel.
