Paine and Glaciers from Puerto Natales

Arrival in Puerto Natales. Airport reception and transfer to selected hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel. At the scheduled time, departure to begin a full-day excursion to Torres del Paine National Park visiting Milodón Cave, with views along the way of Prat Mountain Range, Porteño Lake, Toro Lake and Sierra, Sierra Ballena, Paine Horns, Grey Lake, Salto Grande, Nordenskjold Lake Viewpoint, Sarmiento Lake, Amarga Lagoon. Returning to Puerto Natales at the end of the day.

Balmaceda and Serrano glaciers are located within Bernardo O'Higgins National Park, which is situated 31 nautical miles northwest of Puerto Natales and forms part of the Andes mountain range. Visiting it means admiring a majestic place, almost untouched by man. Access is only by sea, navigating through Última Esperanza Fjord, which owes its name to the "last hope" of finding the Strait of Magellan in 1557, for an expedition seeking it from the Pacific Ocean. The journey begins at the Puerto Natales pier, and along the way it is possible to see buildings belonging to the Bories meat-packing plant, which was one of the largest meat-processing industries in Patagonia. You can also observe a colony of Imperial Cormorants, a small colony of Sea Lions, and a variety of plants that make up the flora, such as Coihue, Canelo, Lenga, Ñire, Chilco and Calafate among others. Balmaceda glacier can be seen from the vessel. However, to visit Serrano, a 20-minute walk along a trail bordering a small lake formed by the glacier's melt is necessary. Return to selected hotel.
