San Pedro de Atacama and Uyuni Express

Arrival in Calama. Reception at the airport and transfer to your selected hotel in San Pedro de Atacama. In the afternoon, visit the Valle de la Luna. Located within the Cordillera de la Sal, this landscape of salt and clay has been shaped by wind and water over millions of years. The tour explores the unique geological formations of the mountain range, concluding with a sunset that highlights the colors of the desert.

The journey to the highlands begins in the early morning to reach the Geysers del Tatio, one of the most significant geothermal fields in the world. Surrounded by steam and water eruptions, you will enjoy breakfast in this natural Andean setting. On the return trip to San Pedro de Atacama, observe the native flora and fauna before stopping at the village of Machuca. Historically a home for llama herders, this village of adobe and cactus wood now offers local Andean crafts.

Pickup from the hotel in San Pedro de Atacama (city center) and transfer to the Hito Cajón border. A vehicle transfer will take place here for the journey to the hotel in Colchani (driver-only service).

Breakfast at the hotel. Pickup for a visit to the Train Cemetery in Uyuni, followed by the town of Colchani to observe traditional salt processing and the local market featuring llama and alpaca wool textiles.

The tour includes the salt mounds, cold water springs ("ojos de agua"), the Dakar Rally monument, and the Plaza of Flags. Lunch will be served at the original salt hotel (now a museum and restaurant). You will also view large salt structures such as the "stairway to heaven," the salt pyramid, and the salt condor.

A picnic lunch will be served on the salt flats (weather permitting). Afterward, visit Incahuasi Island, known for its giant cacti, with a hike to the summit for a panoramic view of the flats. The return journey includes photo stops in the communities of San Juan and Chiguana, and a visit to the Ollague Volcano viewpoint (semi-active, 5,865 meters above sea level). Finally, visit the Cañapa, Hedionda, Honda, and Negra lagoons before heading to the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel. The journey begins with a visit to the Siloli Desert to see the Stone Tree, a natural geomorphic formation caused by wind erosion. The route continues to Laguna Colorada, the geysers, and the Polques hot springs. After passing the Salvador Dalí rocks, we will head to the Licancabur volcano viewpoint to observe Laguna Verde and Laguna Blanca. Border transfer at Hito Cajones at approximately 12:00 PM, followed by a private transfer to San Pedro de Atacama (Downtown Hotel).
