San Pedro de Atacama and Uyuni Express

Arrival in Calama. Airport reception and transfer to the selected hotel in San Pedro de Atacama. In the afternoon we will visit Valle de la Luna, amid the deep aridity of the Cordillera de la Sal we find a landscape of salt and clay shaped by water and wind over millions of years. During our tour we will enjoy the beauty created by the extravagant forms of the cordillera that inspire imagination and reflection through its tranquility. Finally, we will witness the sunset whose colorful hues provide a wonderful end to our excursion.

Our journey to the highlands begins in the early morning to reach one of the world's most important geothermal fields, the "Geysers del Tatio", surrounded by water and steam emanations. We will enjoy the beauty of the Andes and in this natural setting we will offer you a refreshing breakfast. On our way back to San Pedro de Atacama you will enjoy the beauty of the landscape, native flora and fauna before we stop at the village of Machuca, a place of llama herders. Today this town of adobe, straw and cactus wood houses is dedicated to tourism, offering local products such as Andean crafts.

Breakfast at the hotel. Hotel pickup in San Pedro de Atacama (city center) and transfer to the Hito Cajón border, where vehicle transfer will take place, heading to the hotel in Colchani without guide. Dinner at the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel. Hotel pickup and visit to the Train Cemetery in Uyuni, then we visit the town of Colchani to see the manual salt extraction process, the artisanal salt market, stores with llama and alpaca wool textiles, hats and ponchos. You will also see salt heaps, salt water springs, Dakar Rally monument, world flags square, the first salt hotel (now a museum restaurant), where lunch will be served, when it is cold and windy with dust. Visit to the giant salt structures: salt staircase, also called staircase to heaven, salt pyramid, salt clock, salt hand and salt condor. Picnic lunch on the salt flat with colored tablecloths and pillows (weather permitting). After lunch, visit to Isla Incahuasi, characterized by its giant cacti, where a hike to the top of the island will offer views of the salt flat in its entirety. On the return we will make stops for photos and videos in perspective, passing through intermediate settlements such as San Juan and Chiguana. We will arrive at the Volcán Ollague viewpoint (semi-active volcano) at 5,865 meters above sea level. Then visit to the lagoons (Cañapa, Hedionda, Honda, Negra), after which we head to the hotel. Dinner at the hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel. We begin the tour with a visit to the Siloli Desert, where the Árbol de Piedra (Stone Tree) is located, a geomorphic formation due to wind erosion. We then continue to see Laguna Colorada, geysers, hot springs at Polques, the Salvador Dalí rocks. We will continue to the Licancabur volcano viewpoint to observe Laguna Verde and as our last attraction we will visit Laguna Blanca. Border transfer at Hito Cajón between 12:00, private transfer to San Pedro de Atacama (hotel in city center).
