Santiago & The Wonders of the Atacama Desert

Arrival in Santiago. Reception at the airport and transfer to the selected hotel. Overnight stay.

Breakfast at the hotel. Half-day tour of Santiago, featuring a panoramic route through the city's main landmarks where rich history meets modern architecture. Highlights include the Central Market, Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, La Moneda Palace, Constitution Square, Santa Lucía Hill, the Bellavista and Lastarria neighborhoods, and Bicentenario Park. Optionally, guests may visit Bluestone, a local craft shop specializing in lapis lazuli, Chile's national stone. The guide will provide the drop-off point at the end of the tour. Overnight stay.

Arrival in Calama. Reception at the airport and transfer to the selected hotel in San Pedro de Atacama.
In the afternoon, we visit Valle de la Luna. Located a few kilometers from town within the Salt Mountain Range, this geological site is part of the Los Flamencos National Reserve. We will explore its unique rock formations and quiet surroundings. At sunset, the landscape is transformed by golden and red tones, offering a remarkable experience.

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for a scheduled visit to Valle del Arcoíris. We head west from San Pedro de Atacama to Yerbas Buenas, an area of historical significance featuring important regional petroglyphs. After passing through Matancilla, we reach the Rainbow Valley, named for the diverse earth tones—reds, browns, greens, and yellows—that contrast with white salt deposits and the blue sky.

Breakfast at the hotel. Full-day excursion starting at the Los Flamencos National Reserve, continuing through high-altitude lagoons to the oxidized volcanic lava of Piedras Rojas. The tour includes several stops to observe local flora and fauna. Overnight stay.

Our journey to the Altiplano begins in the early morning to witness sunrise at El Tatio Geysers, one of the world's most significant geothermal fields. More than 70 fumaroles release steam and create boiling pools, best viewed at dawn when colors contrast with the clear sky. We will enjoy breakfast in this Andean setting. Temperatures can range from -15°C to 24°C. On the return to San Pedro de Atacama, we observe the native flora and fauna, including vicuñas and vizcachas. We will stop at the village of Machuca, a small settlement of adobe and cactus wood houses where residents offer Andean crafts and local gastronomy. Return to San Pedro for a scheduled transfer to the airport for the flight to Santiago. Reception at Santiago Airport and transfer to the selected hotel. Overnight stay.
