Santiago & The Wonders of the Atacama Desert

Arrival in Santiago. Reception at airport and transfer to selected hotel.

Breakfast at the hotel. Half-day visit of the city of Santiago, panoramic tour of the city's main attractions, where its rich history contrasts with its modern and imposing constructions. The central market, Plaza de Armas, Santiago Cathedral, La Moneda Palace, Constitution Square, Cerro Santa Lucía, the Bellavista, Lastarria neighborhoods and Bicentennial Park are part of this unforgettable tour. Optionally, if passengers wish, you can visit Bluestone, a local craft shop, where you will find pieces with lapis lazuli stone, the national stone of Chile. At the end of the tour, the guide will indicate the drop off point.

Breakfast at the hotel. At the agreed time, transfer to Santiago airport to board the flight to Calama.
Arrival in Calama. Reception at airport and transfer to selected hotel in San Pedro de Atacama.
In the afternoon we will visit the Valley of the Moon. Just a few kilometers from the town, among the sharp rock hills and unusual forms of the Salt Mountain Range, is the Valley of the Moon, a true geological spectacle of enormous landscape beauty and part of the Los Flamencos National Reserve. During our tour we will enjoy its extravagant forms, its surroundings that invite contemplation. Finally, at sunset, we will see the golden and red tones that cover everything and move anyone, making this an unforgettable excursion for every visitor.

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to visit Rainbow Valley in regular service. We will leave San Pedro de Atacama heading west, first visiting Yerbas Buenas, a sector of great historical importance, as it has one of the region's most important petroglyphic groups. Then, crossing Matancilla, a sector rich in flora and fauna, we find the Rainbow Valley, named for the variety of tones that can be seen in the surrounding hills: earth, reddish, brown, green, white and yellow colors, which, combined with white salts and blue sky, form a unique place.

At the agreed time, departure from the hotel to visit the Flamingos Reserve, passing through the altiplanic lagoons, to the oxidized volcanic lava of the red stones, the tour will offer you several stops, each more incredible than the last, and learning about local fauna and flora.

Our trip to the Altiplano begins early in the early morning, to watch the sunrise at one of the world's most important geothermal fields: the Tatio Geysers. There are more than 70 fumaroles from which jets of steam emerge and form pools of boiling water. Its best appearance is presented at first light, which is when beautiful colors are born between the contrast of the intensely blue sky and the pristine vapor of the geysers. In the midst of this impressive natural setting next to the Andes, we will enjoy a hearty breakfast, which will allow us to warm our bodies, since temperatures in this area reach 24°C and the minimum between -2° and -15°C below zero. Taking the return route to San Pedro de Atacama, we will observe the beauty of the landscape, its valleys, its native flora and fauna, highlighted by the charismatic vicuñas and vizcachas. Then we will stop in the town of Machuca, a small Atacameño village of barely twenty adobe, straw and cactus wood houses, where its inhabitants dedicate themselves to tourism and offer Andean crafts and typical gastronomy. Return to San Pedro, at the agreed time transfer to the airport to take the flight to Santiago. Reception at Santiago Airport and transfer to selected hotel.
