The Magic of Isla de Pascua

Illustrative image of Chile
Day 1: Isla de Pascua Airport - HD Ahu Akivi
Arrival at Isla de Pascua. Reception at the airport and transfer to the selected hotel. In the afternoon, the tour begins in town with a visit to Ahu Tahai, featuring three restored platforms and the only moai with white coral eyes. We then continue to Ahu Akivi, known for its seven moais facing the sea, restored in 1960. Finally, visit Puna Pau to learn about the "Pukao" (topknots). A short walk to the top of a small volcano offers views of the red scoria crater where the hats were carved, as well as views of Terevaka and the town. Return to the hotel.
Overnight stay.
Day 2: Isla de Pascua - Full Day Anakena Beach
Morning departure for a tour along the southern coast of the island. The first stop is Vaihu to visit an Interpretive Rapa Nui Village, showcasing traditional houses and structures. Continue to Ahu Akahanga to see a platform with 12 moais and an unrestored village with ancient remains. Proceed east to Ahu Tongariki, the island's largest restored platform with 15 moais. The journey continues to the Rano Raraku volcano for a 1-hour walk to see over 400 moais in various stages of carving. The day ends at Anakena, a coral sand beach with turquoise waters, featuring Ahu NauNau and Ahu Ature Huki. Return to the hotel.
Overnight stay.
Day 3: Easter Island - HD Orongo
In the morning, we visit Ahu Vinapu to observe the Ahu Tahira wall, which showcases stonework remarkably similar to Inca construction. You will see a red scoria moai that potentially represents a two-headed woman. We then drive to the Rano Kau Volcano to view the island's largest and most scenic crater. Afterward, we visit the Orongo Ceremonial Village to learn about the Tangata Manu (Birdman) competition. This historic event, which lasted until 1864, involved swimming to Motu Nui islet to retrieve the egg of the Manutara bird. The day concludes at the village, where you can enjoy the sunset from Ahu Tahai or the coastline. Return to the hotel.
