Volcano and Beach

Upon arrival at San José airport and after the migration process, you will collect your luggage and pass through customs. At the airport exit, an ARA Tours airport guide will welcome you. He or she will hand over your travel documents and answer any questions you may have. Finally, a private transfer will take you to your hotel*.
* Please note that, depending on your arrival time, your room may not be ready yet. In this case, you can store your luggage and use the public facilities of the hotel. Check-in time is usually at 3 pm. If you wish your room to be available for an early arrival, you should book it in advance with a supplement.

After breakfast, you will be picked up at your hotel and transferred to your next destination, La Fortuna de San Carlos. Your hotel is located right on the slopes of the volcano. If weather conditions are favorable, the impressive Arenal Volcano will welcome you well before your arrival. After a long day, you can relax in the beautiful hot springs of your hotel.

In the morning, your local guide will pick you up for a walk on the ancient lava flows on the slopes of the volcano. During this walk, if you are lucky, you may see varied wildlife hidden in the beautiful and scenic flora. In the afternoon you can visit on your own the impressive La Fortuna waterfall (not included). In a beautiful setting surrounded by abundant vegetation and a wide variety of flora and fauna, this waterfall emerges from the dense green jungle before falling about 65 meters into a natural pool. This magnificent waterfall is fed by the Fortuna River and its tributaries, located in the mountains of the area. The trail will take you about 600 meters to the attractive natural pool, where you can swim in its refreshing waters. This activity is recommended for people in good physical condition, as reaching the base of the waterfall requires descending 500 steps and then ascending the same way.
If you prefer, you can simply relax in the hot springs of your hotel and enjoy time at the pleasant facilities.

In the morning, the transport vehicle will pick you up at your hotel and take you to Puntarenas. There you will board the ferry going to the Nicoya Peninsula (the ticket per person is not included and must be purchased directly at the port). You will then continue by land to Playa Santa Teresa. The afternoon is at your leisure.
