El Mirador

Day 1: Petén Airport - Carmelita Community - El Tintal
Reception at the Mundo Maya airport in Petén and transfer to the Carmelita community. Upon arrival, we will meet representatives of the Community Tourism Commission, who will accompany us throughout the expedition. During the journey, we will make a technical stop at El Guacute camp. After lunch, depart for the El Tintal archaeological site, walking along the Mayan causeway or Zacbé that connects to El Mirador. This 28-kilometer causeway is currently 50% cleared. Afternoon arrival at El Tintal and site visit. Dinner. Overnight stay in tents.
Day 2: El Tintal - El Mirador
Breakfast. Departure from El Tintal archaeological site. Today we aim for an early start for the approximately 7-hour trek. Much of the route follows the Mayan causeway that originally connected El Tintal with El Mirador. Arrival at the "El Zompopero" rest area for lunch. Visit "La Muerta" archaeological site before continuing the trek to the majestic El Mirador. Set up camp and watch the sunset from the El Tigre Complex. Dinner. Overnight stay in tents.
Day 3: El Mirador
Optional sunrise viewing. Breakfast. Guided tour of the El Mirador archaeological site, returning to camp for lunch. We will continue the tour to visit the frieze of the Hero Twins and other impressive areas. Sunset at the La Danta Complex followed by dinner and social time at the camp. Overnight stay in tents.
Day 4: El Mirador - El Tintal
Breakfast. Return trek to El Tintal archaeological site. Sunset viewing from the Henequén Complex. Dinner. Overnight stay in tents.
Day 5: El Tintal - Carmelita Community - Petén Airport
Breakfast. Morning return trek to the Carmelita community. Upon arrival, transfer to the Mundo Maya airport in Petén.
Departure: Minimum 2 passengers.
