Day 1: Guatemala Airport - Guatemala (Wednesday or Sunday)
Reception at the airport and transfer to our hotel in Guatemala Ciudad. Overnight stay.
Day 2: Guatemala - Iximché - Lago Atitlán
Breakfast. Depart with our driver for the indigenous highlands. En route, visit the archaeological site of Iximché, the ancient Cakchiquel Maya capital. Afterward, continue to Lago Atitlán. Upon arrival, take a boat to San Juan La Laguna, where a local host family will welcome us. The evening includes a welcome dinner featuring traditional dishes. Overnight stay in a local family home.
Day 3: San Juan - La Laguna
Breakfast with our hosts. Continue our cultural immersion within Guatemala's indigenous communities. Experience local customs and traditions firsthand through traditional weaving and cooking workshops. Learn about the ancestral worldview and practices that have endured for centuries. Dinner and overnight stay in a local family home.
Day 4: San Juan - La Laguna - Chichicastenango
Breakfast with our hosts. Boat transfer to Panajachel, where transportation awaits for the journey to Chichicastenango. Upon arrival, explore the town with a community guide. Dinner and overnight stay in a local family home.
Day 5: Chichicastenango - Acul
Breakfast with our hosts. Free morning to visit one of the most famous indigenous markets in Latin America. In the mid-morning, continue through the Quiché region to Acul, a serene area known for its rich cultural heritage. Dinner included. Overnight stay.
Day 6: Acul
Breakfast with our hosts. Morning exploration with a community guide to experience the natural landscape, Maya culture, local crafts, and gastronomy. Dinner included. Overnight stay.
Day 7: Acul - Chicoj Coffee Tour - Verapaces (Cobán)
Breakfast with our hosts. Depart for the Verapaces region in central Guatemala, an area known for its natural beauty and history. Upon arrival, visit a coffee plantation. The Chicoj Coffee Tour provides an in-depth look at the production process of one of the world's most valued beans and the region's coffee-growing traditions. Afterward, proceed to Cobán. Overnight stay.
Day 8: Verapaces (Cobán) - Candelaria
Breakfast. Early morning departure for the Candelaria Caves to explore one of the world's most extraordinary underground networks. Lunch and dinner included. Overnight stay.
Day 9: Candelaria - Uaxactún
Breakfast. Early morning departure to the Petén jungle. Arrival at Uaxactún, a community located within the Maya Biosphere Reserve. Lunch prepared by the community. In the afternoon, a community guide will lead a visit to the archaeological site, followed by a demonstration of chicle and xate extraction, wood and corn husk (tuza) handicrafts, and an opportunity to engage with the local community. Dinner and overnight stay in the Uaxactún community.
Day 10: Uaxactún - Tikal - Petén
Breakfast. Today we visit the Mayan city of Tikal, the jewel of the classic Maya world. Lunch and transfer to Flores. Overnight stay.
Day 11: Petén - Antigua Visit - La Antigua
Breakfast. Morning transfer to the airport for the flight to Guatemala City. Reception and transfer to La Antigua, a colonial city declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. We will walk through the Cathedral, the Central Plaza, and the main monuments, museums, bookstores, restaurants, and art galleries. Afternoon at leisure. Overnight stay.
Day 12: La Antigua
Breakfast. Day at leisure to enjoy La Antigua, strolling through its cobblestone streets, admiring the historic architectural styles, or relaxing at the hotel facilities. Overnight stay.
Day 13: La Antigua - Guatemala Airport
Breakfast. Transfer to the Guatemala City airport.
