Day 1: Guatemala Airport - Guatemala Ciudad
Reception at the airport and transfer to our hotel in Guatemala Ciudad. Overnight stay.
Day 2: Guatemala Ciudad - Gastronomy Workshop - Petén
Breakfast. Panoramic morning tour of the city, including the Cathedral, Central Plaza, National Palace, and Reforma Avenue. Mid-morning, attend an introductory talk and cooking workshop on Guatemalan gastronomy led by a renowned local chef. Lunch. In the afternoon, take a local flight to Flores and transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay.
Day 3: Petén - Tikal - Petén
Breakfast. Visit the Maya city of Tikal, the jewel of the Classic Maya world. Lunch at the archaeological site. The rest of the afternoon is free for a walk through Isla de Flores with views of Lago Petén Itzá. Dinner at La Danta Restaurant, specializing in regional flavors and artisanal ingredients. Overnight stay.
Day 4: Petén - Guatemala Ciudad - Iximché - Lago Atitlán
Breakfast. Transfer to the airport for the return flight to the city. Upon arrival, depart for the Guatemalan highlands to visit Iximché, the ancient Cakchiquel Maya capital. Continue to Lago Atitlán, known for its three volcanoes and twelve surrounding indigenous villages. Overnight stay.
Day 5: Lago Atitlán - San Juan La Laguna - Cooking Workshop - Lago Atitlán
Breakfast. Boat excursion to San Juan La Laguna, a Tzutuhil village where community life harmonizes with nature. Participate in a cooking workshop at the Deleite Ancestral project to learn how to prepare traditional local dishes. Return to the hotel after lunch. Overnight stay.
Day 6: Lago Atitlán - Chichicastenango - La Antigua
Breakfast. Early in the morning, we will depart for Chichicastenango to visit one of the most renowned indigenous markets in Latin America. We will then visit the Tux Project* for an ancestral Mayan gastronomic experience, featuring gourmet local cuisine and an overview of their culinary research. In the afternoon, we transfer to La Antigua, a colonial city and UNESCO World Heritage site. Overnight stay.
Day 7: La Antigua - Finca Valhalla - Finca La Azotea - La Antigua
Breakfast. Today we explore two of Guatemala’s primary gastronomic products. In the morning, we visit Finca Valhalla* to learn about macadamia nut cultivation, its industrial processing, and the local reforestation project. We continue to Finca La Azotea* to discover the production of one of the world’s finest coffees. The visit includes the nursery, plantation, wet and dry mills, drying patios, roasting area, and packaging, concluding with a tasting session. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure. Overnight stay.
Day 8: La Antigua - Guatemala Airport
Breakfast. Transfer to Guatemala City Airport. End of our services.
