Day 1: Guatemala Airport - Guatemala City (Saturday)
Reception at the airport and transfer to our hotel in Guatemala City.
Accommodation.
Day 2: Guatemala - Lecture and Workshop: Guatemalan Gastronomy - Petén
Breakfast. In the morning we will take a panoramic tour of this city. We will visit the Cathedral, Central Plaza, National Palace and Reforma Avenue. Mid-morning we will have our cooking workshop and introductory lecture on Guatemalan gastronomy, led by a renowned Guatemalan chef. Lunch. In the afternoon, we will take the local flight to Flores. Transfer to hotel. Accommodation.
Day 3: Petén - Tikal - Petén
Breakfast. Today we will visit the Mayan city of Tikal, the jewel of the classical Maya World. Lunch within the archaeological site. Free time in the afternoon to enjoy a stroll through Flores Island, accompanied by a relaxing view of Lake Petén Itzá. Dinner at Restaurante La Danta*, specializing in dishes that enhance the flavor of artisanal gastronomy with history and ingredients from the Petén region. Accommodation.
Day 4: Petén - Guatemala - Iximché - Atitlán
Breakfast. At the indicated time, transfer to the airport to take the return flight to the city. Reception and departure toward the interior of the Guatemalan highlands. Along the way, we will visit the archaeological site of Iximché, ancient capital of the Cakchiquel Maya kingdom. After the visit we will continue toward Lake Atitlán, which Huxley said was the most beautiful in the world, with its three volcanoes and home to twelve indigenous towns. Accommodation.
Day 5: Lake Atitlán - San Juan La Laguna - Cooking Workshop - Lake Atitlán
Breakfast. We will navigate the lake to visit one of the twelve towns surrounding this beautiful lake. We will discover the Tzutuhil town of San Juan La Laguna, characterized by the harmony in which its inhabitants coexist with nature and culture. Today we will have our cooking workshop at Proyecto Deleite Ancestral* where we will learn the preparation of one of the local food dishes. After lunch, return to the hotel. Accommodation.
Day 6: Lake Atitlán - Chichicastenango - La Antigua
Breakfast. Early in the morning, we will travel to the town of Chichicastenango, where we will tour one of the most renowned indigenous markets throughout Latin America. Visit to Proyecto Tux* where we will have an ancestral Mayan gastronomic experience with gourmet cuisine entirely sourced from the region with explanations about culinary research. In the afternoon, transfer to La Antigua, colonial city declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Accommodation.
Day 7: La Antigua - Finca Valhalla - Finca La Azotea - La Antigua
Breakfast. Today we will discover two of Guatemala's main gastronomic products. In the morning, visit Finca Valhalla* where we will learn all about macadamia nut cultivation, its agroindustrial process and our reforestation project. We will continue toward Finca de Café La Azotea*, where we will discover how one of the world's best coffees is produced. Visit to the nursery, plantation, wet and dry processing, drying yards, roasting area, mill, packaging and finish with a tasting. Free time in the afternoon for personal exploration. Accommodation.
Day 8: La Antigua - Guatemala Airport
Breakfast. Transfer to Guatemala City airport. End of our services.
