Very early in the morning, you will be picked up by a transport that will take you to Piscacucho (Km. 82), the starting point of your Inca Trail trek. During the journey, a brief 15 to 20 minute stop will be made in Ollantaytambo, which will allow you to do last-minute shopping. Upon arrival at Piscacucho, you will begin the trek, enjoying a panoramic view of the Verónica snow peak. Along the route, you will have the opportunity to observe small communities and the valley, as well as several archaeological sites such as Willkarakay and Patallaqta, located in the distance. The final destination of the day will be Wayllabamba, the last town you will encounter on the trail, after walking for approximately 5 to 6 hours. Lunch will be served on the route, and dinner will be offered at the campsite.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 4: Wayllabamba & Pacaymayo
On this second day, you will ascend to the highest point of the route, known as the Abra de Warmiwañusca (4,200 m.a.s.l. / 13,776 feet). This pass, whose name comes from Quechua and means "Dead Woman", owes its name to the silhouette of the mountains that resemble a woman lying down. Along the ascent, you will enjoy a changing landscape, where you can observe trees and small waterfalls that form on the sides of the path. Upon reaching the pass, you can take a moment to capture impressive photographs and admire the panoramic view. Subsequently, you will descend to the campsite in Pacaymayo, where you can rest and regain your strength.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 5: Pacaymayo & Wiñaywayna
After camping in Pacaymayo, you will undertake a new climb towards the Runkurakay pass. Upon arrival, you will enjoy views of the archaeological sites of Sayaqmarka and Qonchamarka, where you can appreciate the constructive style of its walls and the impressive Andean landscape. You will have lunch in Chaquicocha, where you will have time to rest and recharge your energy. Subsequently, you will ascend towards the Phuyupatamarca pass (3,700 m.a.s.l.), where another fascinating archaeological site is located. The final descent will lead through cloud forest, an original path with spiral-type stairs between the trees, until you reach the campsite in Wiñaywayna (2,679 m.a.s.l.). You will dine at the campsite and enjoy your last night on the trail.
*The designated campsites may vary, as they depend on allocation by the Ministry of Culture.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.
Day 6: Wiñaywayna - Machu Picchu - Cusco
On your last day, you will wake up early to begin the trek to Intipunku (Gate of the Sun). Upon arrival, you will be greeted by the first rays of sunlight and a breathtaking view of the Machu Picchu Historic Sanctuary, a moment that will remain marked forever in your memory. After capturing some photos, you will descend to the Inca citadel and begin the guided tour of approximately two hours through Machu Picchu. At the end of the tour, you will have free time to explore the citadel on your own. Subsequently, you will head to Aguas Calientes, where you can enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, you will take the train back to Ollantaytambo station, where a vehicle will take you to your hotel in Cusco.
You will enjoy a delicious menu lunch at Café Inkaterra with a unique view of the Vilcanota River. This restaurant combines Andean cuisine and architecture with contemporary trends, creating a meal with original and fusion-style flavors.
