Day 3: Start of trek to Salkantay: Soraypampa - Salkantay - Andenes (Monday)
Depart Cusco towards Soraypampa, the starting point of your hike, with a previous stop in the town of Mollepata. At Soraypampa (3,868 m.a.s.l. / 12,690 feet), your team will be waiting to begin the ascent to the Salkantay pass (4,638 m.a.s.l. / 15,213 feet). From the highest point, the view of the Vilcabamba mountain range peaks is impressive, while the south face of the Salkantay glacier rises above you. With some luck, you may observe some Andean condors soaring elegantly in the sky. Rest and recharge with the unique energy of the apus and prepare for the descent to Wayracmachay where you will have lunch. Continue descending in altitude along the left bank of the Salkantay river, while noticing how the puna landscape fills with green tones, a sign that you are entering the cloud forest or montane forest. The air becomes warmer, butterflies appear fluttering near orchids and the trail fills with life until you reach the camp at Andenes (2,889 m.a.s.l./9,481 feet). Dinner will be served and you can rest.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.

Day 4: Andenes - Lucmabamba
Today is a day to enjoy a somewhat less demanding but very interesting path. The route runs along the Santa Teresa river valley, passing through more populated rural areas. As you advance, appreciate diverse plantations and learn about some local products such as bananas, passion fruit, avocado and coffee. After lunch on the trail, you will walk two more hours until you meet the private vehicle that will be waiting to take you to the start of the Inca Trail (approximately 30 minutes travel). From this point, you will head to the last camp of your adventure in Lucmabamba. In the evening, the family who will be your host will give a demonstration of delicious local coffee. After dinner, spend the night at the camp.

Day 5: Lucmabamba - Llactapata - Aguas Calientes
A new ascent not as demanding as the first day awaits you today. Begin by walking two to three hours to the Llactapata pass (2,735 m.a.s.l. / 8,974 feet) and then descend to the archaeological site of the same name. From there, you will have an impressive view on the horizon of Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu mountain; an angle that few travelers have the opportunity to admire. Lunch is served at a nearby viewpoint, where you can still see the Inca citadel. After finishing, continue the hike to the Aobamba river, surrounded by lush bamboo forests, orchards and coffee plantations. Finally, arrive at the Hidroeléctrica train station to board the train that will take you to Aguas Calientes to spend the night at your hotel before heading to Machu Picchu the next day.

Day 6: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco
In the morning, head to the bus station in Aguas Calientes. From here, you will take a 25-minute bus ride to Machu Picchu, the Lost City of the Incas. The archaeological site is believed to have been built around 1450 by the Inca Pachacutec as his summer residence. However, a century later, the city was abandoned following the Spanish conquest, escaping the destruction that befell other Inca settlements. Instead, the jungle slowly swallowed its stone constructions and hid them, protecting it. During the guided tour, learn about the origins of this impressive citadel, featuring its most prominent monuments such as the main plaza, the royal quarters, the temple of the three windows, the circular towers, the sacred sundial and the cemeteries. At the end of the tour, return to Aguas Calientes for lunch and board the train back to Ollantaytambo station. From there, a private vehicle will take you to your hotel in Cusco.
Enjoy a delicious lunch menu at Café Inkaterra with a unique view of the Vilcanota river. This restaurant combines Andean cuisine and architecture with contemporary trends, creating a meal with original flavor and fusion style.
