Day 2: Cusco - Balcón del Diablo - Temple of the Moon - Cusilluchayoc
Early in the morning, you will be picked up at your hotel and taken to Sacsayhuamán, the starting point of the route to Chacán or Balcón del Diablo. This place showcases perfect harmony between nature and Inca architecture, with structures that blend seamlessly with the rocks that house them and where rituals dedicated to water worship were performed. A natural cave, created by erosion caused by the Saphy River, harbors Inca carvings within it; at the top, a platform between the rock acts as a balcony and offers a unique view of the landscape. After taking photos, you will return to Cusco, not before stopping at the Cusilluchayo archaeological site, following an ancient Inca path that led toward the Antisuyo. Enter the city through the San Blas neighborhood, known for hosting the most talented artisans.

Along the way, you will visit the Pikillacta archaeological site, one of the largest and best-preserved pre-Inca cities in the country. Belonging to the Wari culture, its 700 stone and mud structures span more than 3,000 hectares, with large walls and chambers with fine details that have been preserved to this day. Already in Checacupe, explore the town for a few minutes before continuing to Quesoyuni, a small community nestled in the Andes mountains. After a necessary lunch, begin the hike to the camp at Kairawiri, a gentle start to acclimatize and prepare you for the effort required by tomorrow's hike.
