Day 1: Ecuador Airport - Quito (Monday)
Transfer from the airport to the hotel.
Overnight stay.
Day 2: Quito - Otavalo - Cotacachi
Departure from your hotel heading north to visit the "Plaza de Ponchos" at the Otavalo textile and craft market. The tour continues to Cotacachi, known for its leather goods. Along the way, enjoy Andean landscapes featuring San Pablo Lake and the Imbabura and Cayambe volcanoes. This excursion combines local folklore with shopping opportunities. Return to the hotel.
Day 3: Quito - Middle of the World
Departure to the Historic Center, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit the Basilica (including access to its towers and stained-glass windows), Plaza Grande, the Government Palace, and La Compañía de Jesús (guided visit included). Continue to San Francisco Square and Church, and the Panecillo viewpoint. Transfer to the Middle of the World City for lunch (on own) and a visit to the Equatorial Line Monument and the Intiñan Museum (both included). A final stop is made at the Teleferico (cable car) for those wishing to visit it independently; otherwise, return to the hotel. Overnight stay.
Day 4: Quito - Avenue of the Volcanoes - Riobamba
Travel south along the Pan-American Highway, viewing several snow-capped peaks. Stop to appreciate the North and South Ilinizas before entering COTOPAXI National Park to visit Limpiopungo Lagoon. Visit a rose farm to learn about the cultivation, harvesting, and export processes. Continue to the artisanal town of Guano, famous for its monoliths and mummies. Upon arrival in Riobamba, enjoy a panoramic city tour including Parque Neptuno and the Loma de Quito viewpoint. Overnight stay.
Day 5: Riobamba - Ingapirca - Cuenca
Departure for ALAUSI to board the Devil's Nose Train at 11:00 (ticket included) for a scenic round-trip journey. Continue to the archaeological ruins of INGAPIRCA for a tour of the site museum. Arrival in the evening at Cuenca, a World Heritage city. Overnight stay.
Day 6: Cuenca - Gualaceo
Morning tour of Cuenca, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its architecture and the four rivers that cross the city. Visit the Cathedral Domes (included), Turi viewpoint, Calderon Park, and the "Ortega" Panama hat factory. Later, visit the nearby town of GUALACEO to see the orchid nursery (included) and the jewelry workshops in CHORDELEG. Return to Cuenca. Overnight stay.
Day 7: Cuenca - Guayaquil
Overland transfer to Guayaquil through the El Cajas lake district, including a stop at the "3 Cruces" viewpoint (weather permitting). Observe cacao, rice, and banana plantations along the way. Upon entering Guayaquil, cross the Guayas River via its bridges and visit the Cerro Paraiso viewpoint for a 360-degree view of the city. Transfer to the hotel. Visit the Iguana Park and walk along the Malecon to see La Rotonda, Las Peñas street, and La Perla wheel, or enjoy a Guayas River boat ride (included). Overnight stay.
Day 8: Guayaquil - Ecuador Airport
Transfer from the hotel to the airport.
End of services.
