Reception and transfer to your choice of hotel. Accommodation.
Day 2: Belize City - Lamanai - Belize
Breakfast. One-hour transfer to Orange Walk (Sugar Town) where the boat dock is located to board the boat and navigate the Río Nuevo. The river tour lasts just over an hour. During the walk along jungle trails you will be able to observe architectural remains such as the stone face of a deity. The route takes visitors through other plazas with temples that reach the skies—once again, a reminder of the cosmological religion of this ancient civilization. After lunch (included) served in thatched huts by the lagoon, return to your hotel in Belize City.
Day 3: Belize City - Zipline - Cave - San Ignacio
Breakfast, departure towards Cayo District—en route we will enjoy a fabulous Zipline (Canopy) tour through the jungle with more than 8 platforms at different heights to boost your adrenaline, then we continue with Cave Tubing, a relaxing journey through an underground river inside a cave that will allow us to observe strange rock formations, small waterfalls and enjoy a refreshing swim. Then you will be served a delicious lunch (included)—afterwards departure to San Ignacio, accommodation.
Day 4: San Ignacio - Caracol - San Ignacio
Breakfast. Hotel departure towards Mountain Pine Ridge; after 2 hours of travel south we arrive at this beautiful forest reserve, which covers an extensive area. Here you will find a scenic combination of pine forests, fresh streams, lush river valleys, caves and waterfalls. You will begin with a visit to one of the most important Mayan archaeological sites, CARACOL—Discovered in 1938 and later explored in the 1950s. Caracol was thought to be a Mayan ceremonial center. It was not until 1985 that the importance and extent of Caracol began to grow. In 1986, a carved altar stone was discovered that describes a Caracol victory over Tikal, establishing Caracol as the most powerful Mayan metropolis. This discovery filled an important missing piece of Mayan history, spanning approximately 140 years in the Middle Classic period, and places Caracol as the "supreme" Mayan city. The largest pyramid at Caracol, Canaa (Mayan means "place of sky") stands 140 feet tall and is the tallest man-made structure in all of Belize. Box lunch included. The tour will continue at the Río Frío cave, the largest in Belize, and at the natural pools of the same river. Afterwards return to your hotel in San Ignacio.
Day 5: San Ignacio - ATM - San Ignacio
Breakfast. Departure towards "Actun Tunichil Muknal"—undoubtedly the most fascinating experience this beautiful destination offers. Upon arrival at the nature reserve, you will be provided with a helmet and headlamp, and you will begin the walk that will take you to the cave. Entry is made by swimming, and then the walk inside the cave and through the river bed begins; in some sections the water level will reach your chest, in other sections you will have to swim, and also navigate through a maze of rocks until you reach the main chamber of the cave, which will amaze you with its beautiful formations and offerings that the Mayans left for their deities—pottery, funerary urns, jade, and even human remains—making this place a unique and incomparable site. Box lunch included. Return to your hotel in San Ignacio.
Day 6: San Ignacio - Zoo - Ambergris Caye
Breakfast. En route you will visit the Belize Zoo located at mile 31 of the western highway, about 40 minutes drive from Belize City. Only native species are found in the zoo, which have either been rescued or donated by owners who could not properly care for them. The "guests" are found in large enclosures that contain their natural habitat. A great opportunity to see and photograph jungle animals that are not easy to find. Afterwards transfer to take a flight to the Island Paradise (San Pedro). Reception and transfer to your hotel.
